3 Cops Injured; EMT Bitten During Domestic Dispute At Hotel

Several Boardman Police Officers were injured responding to a reported domestic dispute in the early morning hours of Memorial Day. Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday, police were dispatched to the Days Inn and Suites on South Avenue where a man and woman were reportedly fighting. Officers were assaulted while attempting to arrest Shawn Drogus for disorderly conduct. Additional officers were called to assist with the arrest.

A Rocky Mount man has been charged with felony child abuse following the death of his 7-year-old grandchild, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
