Police: Man Faked Abduction To Avoid Super Bowl Payouts

Oops.

Robert Brandel, of North Tonawanda, New York, was found tied up in his pickup truck Monday in a parking lot in Newfane, 30 miles north of Buffalo.

How did he get in such a spot?

Seems he had entered false names in his $50,000 Super Bowl squares pool hoping to get more of the winnings for himself.

It didn't work. He wound up in the hole. So he claimed two members of the pool kidnapped him, took $16,000 from him, drove him around for two days, and left him in his truck trussed up...
